i •—o— Those seeking amusement during the coming Chris mas and New Year holidays will be very hard to please, if in one part or another they cannot find a something to suit their respective tastes. Our advertising columns shew that those on whom 'he duty has devolvel to provide amusement and recreation for the people have been energetic, an I also sh >w that the public have been in no way niggardly in providing the fun Is. From the very general complaints and grumbling of hard times, and losses through the floods that have been dinned into our ears of late, we were inclined to think that the coming Christmas and New Year would have been unusually dull, but it is very plain that the alarm was only a false one, and that while there have been losses, they have not been of a eery alarming character, at all events in this district, for which we all should fee! grate fnl. We wish one ami all a marry Christmas and a happy New Year. Below is a list o f tire amusements.
