COUNCILLOR COLCLOUGH AND THE COUNTY OFFICES.
(IO THE EDITOR OF THE DUNSTAN TIMES.) Sir, —l am informed than Mr Cololough is vexed that I should have imputed it to him that he seconded the motion of Mr McGinnis for accepting the full tender for the Comity Offices, an I I hasten to set him right. Briefly the facts ' are as follows: In Ihe original minutes of the proceedings of the Council it was, and is plainly recorded that the motion was “ Mi.ved by Councillor McGinnis, and seconded by Councillor Colcljngb and Iso informed the electors at Bannockburn. When the minutes were copied into the Permanent Official Minute Book it was discovered that a mistake had been male, and that Councillor Davidson had seconded the motion. This discrepancy, however, was not notice I until the day of the meeting in November, so that (although being myself misiutorme I, 1 had misinf Tinel others) 1 am free from the imputation "of unveracity. Some little uiscussi-m took p'ace, when the minutes were being rea’, as to who really did second the motion ; lint it was inled, no doubt correctly, that Councillor Davidson’s name was correctly inserted, and so the record now stands.— Yours, etc., Vincent Poke.
