COUNTIES ACT.

—o— Extract from Regulations under the Counties Act, assented to by the Governor, and published in this day’s Gazette : “ Whenever by reason of any alteration in the number of ridings in a County, in which the said Act is in operation, it shall be necessary to prepare new rolls before a General Election of the Council, the following provisions shall have effect"—. L—Upon such alteration taking effect the Clerk shall, as goon as conveniently may be make up from the Electors’ roll, or rolls in force, a new roll for such new or altered ridings, and shall place on the roll of each such riding the name of each voter who appears from the existing electors’ roll to be entitled to vote in such new or altered riding, and shall assign to each the number of votes to which he is entitled. 2. —Such new roll, when corrected by the Council, and signed bv the Chairman and any two Councillors, shall be the Electoral rolls for such new ridings until new rolls are made up in accordance with the said Act. 3. —The new rolls, so framed, shall come into force on the day fixed for a General Election of the Council, and not previously. 9. —When a Borough has been dissolved, and included within a County, under any law authorising the same a new electors’ roll shall bo made up as soon as conveniently may be, by adding thereto the names of all persons who at time of such dissolution were entitled to vote in the Borough. 10. Such names shall be inserted upon the roll of the ridings or riding of which the former borough then forms part, andahall be added thereto by the Clerk, who shall place on such roll, or rolls, the names of each person who was entitled to vote in the Borough according to the borough rolls in force at the time of such dissolution, and shall assign to each the number of votes to which ho was entitled under such last mentioned roll. 12.—When new roll or rolls shall have been Regulations 9 and 10, the tame, when corrected by tho Council, and signed by the Chairman, and any two Councillors shall be the electors’ rolls in the riding or ridings to which they relate until new rolls are made up in accordance with the said Act the rolls made under the said Regulations shall come into force when corrected and signed as authorised.
