DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.

A Special Aleeting of tho Committee of Management was held iu the Committeeroom, Town Hall, Clyde, on Alonday evening last the 30th instant. Present : —Benjamin Naylor, Esq., President, W. L. Simpson, Esq., Vice President,, and Messrs Attfield, Auckland, Rev. Mr. Dewe, Cambridge,- Holt, J. E. Stevens, (Treasurer), and Geo. Faobe, (Secretary). The President said the object of the meeting was tO approve of, or otherwise, : the action,taken the previous day, (Sunday) by removing Hhe s Hospital^building back from the banks of tho Molyneux, and tbo taking action for their- re-erection. The Secretary explained that the removal of the buildings and the contents of tho Surgery and Wards had been effected most successfully, ahd at bnt little expense, and further, that during the day (Alonday) temporary arrangements had been made for .the accommodation of the patients and servants of the Institution. Proposed by Mr W. L. Simpson, seconded by Air J. the action” taken in removing the Hospital buildings be approv-: cd of by this Committee, and that a Vote of thanks be recorded in the minutes to all who assisted, and that all expenses incurred in-tbo demolition of the bull dings--and ■ the rorerectiou of temporary accommodation for the patiep.t3.aud servants be recognised by this Committee. Carried. Proposed by the Rev. Air Dewe, seconded 1 by Air W. L. Simpson, and carried—That The assisted by the Treasurer and Resident SurgeorTbe requesed to select site for the -re-erection of the Hospital buildings, prepare plans, obtain probable cost and submit the same . to the next monthly meeting of the Committee of Management, to be held on Alonday next the 7th instant. Discussion ensued as to probabilities of obtaining assistance from the Government totvards the re-erection ; it was stated'that for buildings no Calk had . been made upon the Government for a, number of years, and it was thought that if* the matter was properly represented, sufficient assistance would be granted. Resolved—That the President telegraph to Air Vincent Pyke, AI. R.R., inform him of the loss of the buildings, arid ’ask-him to represent the maitef in as favorable a, light as possible towards obtaining a grant - in aid for their re-ereotion. ana.:-■u ni-' Thd meeting then adjourned ’-till Monday next the 7th instant, at 8 p.m.
