DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.
The usual monthly meeting of the' Com* rnittco of Management was held in the .Secretary’s office, on Monday evening last the 2nd inst. Present—Messrs. J. U. Cambridge (in the chair), Auckland, Holt, Attfiehl, J. E. Stevens (Treasurer), and Geo. Fache (Secretary.) The minutes of previous meeting were road and confirmed.
The inward and outward correspondence was read received and adopted. Visiting Committee's No. 1 report was read ami received. No. 2 report, recommending payment of accounts for salaries and supples for the past month, amounting to L 57 16s Bd, was read and received. The Treasurer's report, as follows was reml and received : Receipts. Balance in hand from last report L 3 8 9 Government Subsidy for last quarter ... ... ... 218 12 6 Subscriptions—Clyde .. ... 22 0 L 229 3 3 DiSBTJP.SEXIKXTS, Passed accounts paid ... 156 18 4 Balance in Bank N.S. Passed accounts unpaid .... 74 G S Credit Balance ... 9 5 3 LS3 11 11 The Surgeon reported as follows Number of patients in hospital at the. beginning of the month, 6 ; number since admitted, I ; number discharged, 3 ; remaining in the Institution August 31st, 4. An application for leave of absence for two days, for the purpose of getting married was also included in the report. The application for leave of absence was granted. Dr Stackpole was elected Honorary Surgeon. The Visiting Committee were instructed to have the regulation board at the gate of the Institution repainted ; and to cither purchase a new washing machine, or have the present one repaired. Tenders for supplies, kc.., for the six months, ending 12th of March, IS7O, wore now opened, and the following accepted Wines spirits, etc., Mr B. Naylor ; bread, Mr T. H Bell ; milk, Mr W. Brown ; meat, Messrs. Attlield and Welsfovd ; coals, Mr W. Thomson.
The Secretary was instructed to request the wardsman to, in future weigh the coals supplied to the Institution. A vote of thanks ta the cliair terminated the meeting.
