COUNTY BUILDINGS, CLYDE.
(to thk nmior. of the dukstak times.) Sntl notice a somewhat prosy letter from a Correspondent to your contemporary the Cromwell Argus, signed “ A Lover of Straight-forward Business, Past, Present, and Future,” reflecting on the way in which the County Offices are being constructed. If your space permitted, it would be an easy matter to refute the statements advanced by a Lover of R.B. P.P.&F., in detail, hut content myself with the knowledge of the fact that the letter has evidently emanated from some person knowing nothing whatever of the subject on which he writes. This is amply shown by the (mis?) statement that the “foundation courses have hern omit’ted,” end the other remarks arc equally silly. If the “ Lover of S.B. P.P. & F.” will devote some of his (probably many) spare moments to a personal inspection of the Buildings, he can, if he will, satisfy himself that the “ new broom ” is not so necessary cither in the Executive Council, or in the Contractor’s Camp, as in his own “ block,’’ on which he wears his hat. Your's, &c., Observer. Clyde, August CC, I STS.
