Beneath the rule of men entirely just the pen is mightier than the SWORD,
The question of putting a steam dredge on the M olyneux between Clyde and Alexandra is again being I’inooted, and wo see no reason, if the matter is energetically handled, why this time it should not succeed. When the scheme was previously before the public the promoters had nothing further to advance in its favor than that the bed of the Molyneux had paid to bo worked by hand dredges, removing but small quantities of dirt, and that with appliances for getting over a large area of ground it would necessarily pay still better. They, however, had no facts to support them, or arguments to advance against the croakers, whose cry was that no dredge however large could do anything against'the ever increasing flow of tailings. Since then experience has proved that,'the promotersjwere correct, and that had a dredge been put on the river it would have been highly remunerative. The experience is that of the Company whoso current-wheel dredge has been profitably at work for nearly the past two years. A dredge combining the latest improvements with a ready means of washing the dirt raised, due care being'takcn to save the precious metal, there is no doubt will be a good investment, and we hope the promoters, now that they have again brought the matter forward will not allow it to drop until they have succeeded.
