VINCENT COUNTY NOTICES. SPECIAL ORDER. VINCENT PYKE, Chairman. WHEREAS by the Counties Act, 1876 it is amongst other things enacted that the Council of any County may from time to time by SPECIAL ORDER, alter the number of ridings within the County and the names and boundaries thereof and may also alter the number of the Councillors to be elected by each riding as it thinks lit. AND WHEREAS it is expedient to alter the number of the ridings within Vincent County, and the name and boundaries thereof, and the number of Councillors to be elected by each riding. NOW THEREFORE the Vincent County Council doth hereby order and declare that Vincent County shall be divided into the number of ridings having the names mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and that the boundaries of such ridings shall be those set forth in the said Schedule following the name of each such riding respectively. AND DOTH HEREBY further order and declare that the number of Councillors to be elected by each riding shall be one as mentioned in the said Schedule of each such riding respectively. AND DOTH HEREBY further order and declare that this present Order shall (as to the redivision into ridings their boundaries and the number of Councillors to be elected for each riding) come into force and take effect on the thirteenth day of November 1878, and shall to such extent as may be necessary for preparing any roll or otherwise providing for the next general election of the Council come into force and take effect or on the thirteenth day of November, 1878. SCHEDULE. Kawarau Riding.—Bounded towards • the North by the centre of the Kawarau river to its confluence with the Bannock Burn, thence due South to a point 20 chains from the right bank of the Kawarau river, thence down and along the West bank of the Kawarau and Clutha rivers by a line 20 chains and parrallel to the said rivers, to the boundary betweenlruns 325 a and 325b; towards the South by that boundary and the Southern boundary of run 330 to the summit of Garrick Mountains ; towards the West by the summit of the said range of mountains to the confluence of the Nevis with the Kawarau river, and by Lake County to Kirtleburn.— One Member. Nevis Ridixo.—Bounded towards the West and (North by Lake County ; towards the East by Kawarau riding to the Southern boundary of run 330, tbenee by the watershed of Carrick range and Gar vie mountains to Rocky mount; and towards the South West by Southland County.—One Member. Earnscleugh Riding.—Bounded towards the North by the K awarau riding ; towards the North East by a lino distant 20 chains from the West bank by the Clutha river and parallel thereto, to a point due West of the confluence of the Wai Keri Keri stream, thence to tho Clutha river and down the centre of the said river to Tuapeka County ; towards the South by Tuapeka County and Southland County towaids the West by Nevis riding. One Member. Hawea Biding.—Bounded towards the North by the County of Westland ; towards the East by the Counties of Waitaki and Maniototo; towards the South by the Northern boundary of run No. 238 to the Liudis Burn, thence by the Lindis Burn to its confluence with the Clutha river, thence by the Clutha river to Lake AVanaka ; and towards tho AA r est by Lake County,—Cue Member. Lindis (Riding —Bounded towards the North by Hawea riding ; towards the South by the South Eastern boundary of run No. 238, along the water shed of tho Dunstan mountains and tho Leaning Rock Creek to its confluence with the Clutha river; towards the South AVest by Kawarau riding to tho confluence of tho Kawarau with the Clutha river to its confluence with the Lindis Burn.— One Member. Clutha Riding.—Bounded towards the West by Lake County ; towards tho East by the Hawea and Lindis ridings ; and towards the South by Kawarau riding. One Member. 'Matakanui Biding.—Bounded towards the North AVest by Lindis riding ; towards the North East by Maniototo Comity ; towards the South East by tho Main Dunedin road ; and towards the South AVest by the South AA T est boundary of run No. 223 • —One Member. Manuherikia Riding.—Bounded towards the North AVest by Matakanui riding ; towards the North and East by Maniototo County ; and towards the AA r cst by the North East boundary of mn No. 202 to its junction with the South East boundary of run No. 220, thence by the boundaries of run No. 220 totheManuherikia river tbenee by the Manuherikia river to its confluence with Chatto Creek and thence by Chatto Creek to the main Dunedin road.—One Member,
