CRICKET.

. ALEXANDRA V. CLYDE. A match was played on the Clyde ground on Saturday last l>etween the Towns of Alexandra aud Clyde, when a very onesided game was decided—the Alexandra team beating their opponents in one iniugs. The players representing tho two Elevens were, for the most part, Members of the Dunatan Cricket Club ; in fact it was a scratch-match of Members of that Club, with the taking in of certain players from each of the Towns to make up the necessary number, and thus I have called it a match as between the two Towns. The game commenced at about noon by Mr Rees (who captained the Alexandra team, and having won the toss) sending the Clyde men to the wickets, and by reference to tho scores below were quickly disposed of for the small total of 34. After a short delay the Alexandra men went in, and were not disposed of until they had put together the very respectable total of 104, which was mainly due to the very excellent batting of Mr F. Williams, who contributed 48, and was then caught cut. The Clyde men in their second innings were a little more successful, putting togethei 68. Clyde—First Innings.
