MUNICIPALITY OF CLYDE.

The usual monthly raeoting of the Council was held in the Council Chambers on Tuesday evening last, the slh mst. Present— S. Welsford, Esq., (Mayor), andCra. Clark, Beck, and Auckland. The minutes of last monthly meeting and three special and emergency meetings were read and confirmed:; the minutes of a special meeting held on'the 29th ult., were read. Cr Auckland protested against these ■minutes being confirmed, arguing that there beii g only two Councillors and the Mayor present there was not a legal quorum. Proposed by Cr Clark—That the action -of the Mayor and Crs Clark and Beck, in regard to the lodging of an appeal against the decision of tho Warden in the case Terand’v. the Corporation of Clyde; also lodging objections ngainst the granting of any fresh rights from tho Wia Keri Kori and Creek be confirmed.- Carried. Cr Auckland tabled an amendment, which not being seconded lap»ed. The inward and outward correspondence was read, received, and adopted. Resolved—That Mr Patterson be paid the sum of 20s, to repair damages done to his 'gates and fences by waggon horses. Resolved—That the resignation 'of C. Hueston, Town Clerk, be accepted. Resolved—That the Town Clerk lodge with the Assessment Court an appeal against the valuation on Mr Patterson’s property in East Ward. Resolved - That Mr O. ‘Facho be appointed Town’Clerk in tho place of 'Mr C. ■Hueston, resigned. : Accounts amounting to XB7 I3s were passed for payment. A vote of thanks to the chair closed the proceedings.
