VINCENT COUNTY COUNCIL.
The'following Notices of Motion are to be brought before the Vincent County Council at their next meeting to be hold on Wednesday next, the 23rd inst. Councillor Tyke to move—l. That the sum of L be voted by the Council for the purchase of the Kawarau (Bannockburn) P.ridgc— such sum to be in addition to the subsidy of L2OOO granted by the Government for that purpose. 2. That, with the view of preventing delay in this business, the Council do proceed to nominate an firbitrator'for the approval of the Government to act in the event of the offers of the' Council and Government being refused by the Lessees.
Councillor Pitches to move—That the resolution passed by the Council on the 26th September, determining the contract of Messrs M'Connochie and Tohill (No. 1) he altered, and that the recommendation of the County Surveyor “ that a reduction of 1-3 per chain, or Li3s, ho made from the contract amount ” he adopted. Councillor Pitches to move—That the sum oi one guinea per day be voted to defray the travelling expenses of Councillors coming from a distance to attend the meetings of the Council.
Councillor Jolly to move— That the sum of one hundred pounds (LI00) be set apart as a donation to the Clyde and Cromwell Hospitals ; the amount to be divided equally between the two institutions ; the County Council to have the power to nominate one member of Council for each Committee.
Councillor Jolly to move—That a sum, not exceeding LlflO sterling, be voted to construct a cutting on Bound Hill, situated about one mile from the base of the hill leading to the Brae and Shine Gully ; also, that four surface men be employed on the road between Bise and Shine Gully and Drybread, to put the same in repair.
