Young Reformer, by Emperor, was bred by ihe late Mr Donald Grant, Kirklands ; dam Gentle, by Champion ; Champion, bred by Mr Anderson, Drumore, Wigtonshire, Scotland. Champion, when a yearling, gained two first prizes ; as a twoyear old, four first and two second prizes ; when a three-year old a premium of 40 sovereigns at Glasgow ; when four-years old a premium of 50 sovereigns given by- the Kircudbright Agricultural Society; and when tivc-years-old got L4O premium at Glasgow ; be also got a silver medal for the live best yearlings got by =ny horso in 1859. Also, a number of first prizes in Australia, and first prize at the Taieri, the only year he was shown. Gentle, dam Betty, was bred by Captain Gardner, Dandenong, Victoria, sire, the imported Clydesdale horse Reformer, darn, Bess, imported by Captain Gardner. Betty Stained first prize as a one-year old in Melbourne, in 1854 ; second, as a two-year old, in 1855 ; and first, as a three-year old, in 1350—a1l in Melbourne. Lou dan Tam is a rich hay horse, rising 7 years old, short and compact, with fine flat hone, and stands 17 hands high. Ho was bred by Mr Robert Robson, of Green Lee, Lovell’s Flat, cut of his prize mare Jessie, and gained the first prize nt the Tolnmairiro Agricultural Society’s Show in 1871, as a one year-olfl. Jessie was bred in Tasmania, and imported by James Stewart, Esq., and she has gamed several first and second Erizes at Tokomairiro Shows, both as a mod andyehl mare. Her sire was the imported horso Sir Colin Campbell, and as a Clydesdale mare she is second to none in Otago. Loudan Tam’s sire was the celebrated horse Marquis.
