Two of the best of the Clyde boys not being able to play on the day fixed, it had been decided to postpone the 'match to the following Tr day, but, owing to the miscarriage of a letter, the Alexandra'lads were not aware of the change and accordingly made their appearance on the day first appointed, 'find ing the Clyde boys unprepared to meet them. However, afler a short delay the Clyde Captain (W. ’Williams) mustered a team, and notwithstanding 4he absence of the two boys mentioned tibove, managed for the first time to lead bis men to victory.
