Feraud, of Monte Christo, Clyde, Otago, two samples of Aromatic Tonic Bitters, with the following result No. 527 is a sherry colored, ami No. 82S is a port wine red colored liquid ; they are both perfectly transparent j showing the purity of the water and other substances employed in their manufacture. | These two beverages have, a slight acid ; chemical reaction, and possess an agreeable | cool bitter taste, blended with a sensation j of sweetness, arising from the saoharine | matter of the fruit of which they are the | fermented extract. j 1 have also examined the aromatic and other flavoring substances used by M r Feraud in their manufacture, and from the proportions in which they arc blended with I the fruit wine, they must be pronounced j perfectly safe, and free from anything like | deleterious properties. | I consider this wine, therefore, an agrees,• i hie and perfectly safe beverage, and when diluted with three or four times their bulk I of water, they will make a good cooling I summer drink.
