A VOICE FROM CROMWELL.
(TO TUB EDITOR OF THE IHJNSTAN TIMER.) # Sir, —ln the Cromwell Argus of this day’s f issue, I see a shoemaker lias taken up the cudceL iu defence of his brother tradesmen in Cromwell. It is a satisfaction to know that he is following his legitimate occupation. Doubts have existed for some years as to whether this gentleman had any or no‘, changing his residence as he does, so often—sometimes he hails from Nevis-tor two consecutive weeks. Any way, two wrongs do not make a right, and if my communication has slightly touched on local trades, it does not get rid of the fact that my arguments were good ; and “Shoemaker’s ” abuse of me docs not capsize the assertion that boots and shoos are too dear. 1 am bold enough to put my name to all ray communications if he will do the same. Let us hope this peacemaker never assumes the garb of a minister of religion. His last production was more fitted for a paperprinted in London, under the name of Paul Pry, some 26 years ago, iu Hollywell street, and was put down by the Government. I asiuroyou, Mr Editor, the article written by mo was not intended as a personal matter, and if taken as such I am truly sorry. Pater Famimas.
