THE GREAT MAN MILLINER INSULTED.
The lloston Transeiipt says Worth is in trouble again—with a Parisian Duchess this time. Ho had. after a full fortnight’s consultation and an infinite deal of assistance on the lady’s part, designed a toilette of toilettes, magnificent, unique. \ Not long afterwards the duchess, while at her milliner’s, was surprisojl rather tliaq pleased to discover displayed on the milliner’s sofa the exact duplicate of her costume—the same shade, the same trimmings, everything. The milliner also patronised Worth. The patrician, furious, scut word to M, Worth that she did not want the dress. Ho returned reply that it had boon ordered and executed according to order and must bo accepted and paid for. Thereupon the duchess took a fearful revenge. She wrote M. Worth : —“ 1 shall take ami pay for the dress, hut not wear it. I send yon this hy my cook ; you will bo so good as to alter the costume to fit her.” And now that cook on her day out appears in one of Worth’s most exquisite creations, and the cream of the joke is that the blow lias been effectual and Worth thinks himself disgraced
