WARDENS’ DECISIONS.
(TO THE EDITOR OF THE DUNSTAX TIMES.) Sir?—lu the Cromwell Argus of the 24th ult., and 7th instant are letters on the above subject, and although perhaps 1 may not be an admirer of Mr Warden Simpson to the extent that some are, at the same time I do not approve the course taken by Kernagher or Miner, for the simple reason that Kernagher had his remedy, if aggrieved by the Warden's decision, by appealing to the District Court, when I am quite sure he would get Law to his heart's content, as Judge Harvey sits to dispense that costly commodity only. As regards the hardships suffered by Kernagher as set forth in both letters I certainly sympathize with him, but at the same time, as a lover of fair play, I object to the course taken to set matters right, let our Warden be what he may he certainly is entitled to fair play as regard his decisions as Judge of the Warden's Court—were his decisions absolute then it would be another matter. Hoping for the future Kernagher and Miner will take a different course to get the Warden's decisions set right—Youw, &0., Fair Play, Alexandra, August 12, 1877.
