Feraud, o: Monte Christo, Clyde, Otago, two sample: of Aromatic Tonic Bitters, with the follow ing result:—No. 827 is a sherry colored and No. 828 is a port Vine red colorec liquid ; tliey are both perfectly transparen showing the purity of the water and othei substances einployed in their manufacture. These two beverages have a slight acic chemical reaction, and possess an agreeabl cool bitter taste, blended with a sensatioi of Sweetness, arising from the sacharih' matter Of the fruit of Which they are thi fermented extract. I have also examined the aromatic an( other flavoring substances used by M: Feraud in their manufacture, and from th proportions in which they are blended will the fruit wine, they must be pronouncec perfectly safe, and free frOm anything lib deleterious properties. I consider this wine, therefore, an agrcea ble and perfectly safe beverage, and whet diluted With three or four times their bull of water, they will make a good cooliuj summer drink. JAMES G.
