MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS, CLYDE.

- o On Saturday last the poll was taken for one Councillor to represent-the East Ward, rendered vacant by the retirement of Mr Joseph Hastie. There were two candidates for the office, Mr George Clark and Mr Collard David Stock, the foimer being returned by a majority of five. On Tuesday last the nomination took place for Councillor to represent the South Ward, rendered vacant by the retirement of Mr Samuel Welsford. There was but one candidate nominated to the office—Mr David M'Jonnochie, who was consequently declared duly elected. For the Office of Auditors for the ensuing year, Messrs A. J. Denniston and J. U. Cambridge have been appointed.
