CROMWELL ABUSE.
(TO THE EDITOR 0? THE DUNSTAN TIMES.) SirYonr contemporary the Cromwell Argus is, as usual, as bitter in abuse of Mi Fyke, but that has become so stale that no notice is now taken of it, but not satisfied, they must now commence an attack upon Mr \V. L. Simpson, District Land Officer. What has Mr Simpson done I should like to know, to warrant the insertion of such a letter, as appeared in the last issue oi that paper, signed Pro bono Publico 1 What is to be inferred from the following remarks from his letter “ And is it not more than human to look for a judicious selection from an officer who, while avowedly about to deprive the squatters of the best portions of their country, uses their hospitality while on such a mission 1” I think that the foregoing sufficient to show the style of the writer, and at the same time have caused the rejection of such low-minded abuse by the Cromwell Argus. I will conclude by suggesting that the next appointment for the purpose of selecting land, or for any other purpose connected with Cromwell, should be made from a resident of that “model town.”(?) — Yours, &c., . Outsider, Clyde, August 2, 1877.
