HINTS.
Earache.—Avoid draughts and put in oil with the finger, then wadding. Dust in the eye may often bo removed by blowing the nose at once. For weak eyes, see to the stomach; for sore or bloodshot, the brain. A dislocation must be replaced, if possible. If not possible, water-cloths at first, as in a sprain, and perfect rest for a very long time. If at any time painful, keep in water as hot as possible for an hour before resting. Lame people may often walk without the least lameness by having an inch of cork inside the boot. Two inches may be necessary in some cases. For cramp, move the toes and avoid everything not easily digested. Perfect health requires four hours a day in the open air, and generally eight hours sleep, and to wash all over every day, that the skin may breathe freely and also cast out the impurities from the blood. Flannel, especially over the bowels, is of great value.
