—o— The following is the only business of local importance Tho District Land Officer of Clyde re- , ported on a petition by the residents at Teviot, that another block of 5000 acres he opened for settlement on Messrs Cargill and Anderson’s Run 199, Teviot; also a telegram from Mr Anderson, and other papers on the subject.—Resolved that petitions, omitting names, together with District Land Officer’s and Surveyor's report and plan furnished, be printed in a form of pamphlet (100 copies), and that the Chief Commissioner ho requested to have tins dojio. Consideration of District Land Officer’s report deftrred to Tuesday, tho 17th instant, at 11 o’clock a.m. John Crossau applied to purchase section 31, block 1., Cairn Hill district, under deferred payment lease —Approved. In accordance with the recommendation of tho District Land Officer, Clyde, the application of Patrick M'Gettigan fora waterrace at Clyde was approved of. Tho following certificates of applications for agricultural leases wore approved A. M. Grey, sections 22 and 24, block 1., Teviot; Hugh Crossan, section 23, block 1.. Teviot; James Black, section 10, block Kill., Maniototo district; William M‘Derrit, section 16. block 111., Blackstone ; William M'Derritt, sections IS and 20, block 111., Blackstone; Thomas Turner, section 19, block 111., Blackstone.
