Berlin papers consider the dissolution of the French Chambers would itrsply a triumph of the Ultramontanes, and involve a general conflagration in Europe. Official dispatches state that the attempted passage of the Danube at Nicopolis by the Russian troops was repulsed. The Turkish forees have been successful In Montenegro so far. The Russian Press expresses indignation that Russia will be satisfied with peace without Solid guarantees. Singapore, June 1.1. Mukhtar Pasha’s dispatches report the Russians retreating between Kara and Erzerounn Olti has hcOh abandoned, and is retaken by the Turks. A general rising in Candia is expected. The Russian Government have ordered a military levy of 250,000 men. There are insurrectionary agitations ill Epirus and Thessaly. London, June I'd Russia is negotiating a hew loan of £ls* 000,000 sterling. After fifty-five hours’ continued fighting between the Turks and the Montenegrins, the latter withdrew. Both sides suffered heavy losses. The Russian preparations for tbe passage over the Danube at Giurgevo have been frustrated. Singapore, June 16. Sulieman Pasha, after desperate fighting* has forced the Dugar Pass. Sir Stafford Northcote has been informed that Russia won’t interfere with the naviga' tion of tile Suea Canal. Boabay, June 16. The report of tlie Dugar Pass having been forced is unconfirmed; After desperate fighting, the result is undecisive and both maintained their position. A Russian official despatch states that the Turks endeavored to counteract siege' Work at Kars by frequent sorties. Singapore, June 18th. The Tilrks have crossed the Kodor and defeated the Cossacks. The Turkish right wing in Asia has taken the offensive position. It is reported that tbe Russian attack on Kars has been repulsed; June I9th. The Montenegrins have been revictualled. It is announced that Mehemed Effeudi has been compelled to retire, leaving 200 dead; An Egyptian contingent has arrived at Slanlboiil. Ahmed Mudlar has been reinforced with the 24th battalion at Nickaigh. Singapore, June 19th. A despatch from Mukhtar Pasha states that the Russians were defeated at Alaschcrgerd, after severe fighting. It is semi-officially stated at St. Peters' berg that mediation is impossible. A levy of fresh troops is proposed.
