Wo have hoard a good many yarns relative to mosquitoes, hut one of the host was related yesterday by a visitor. A night or two since he wont to bed, placing beside his bed a box ot matches in case of need, but on awaking lie found they had vanished. He imagined some one had been in the room, hut on looking around ho found where all the lucifors had gone, and the cause of their disappearance. His room-mate is blessed with a rather fiery “ proboscis,” and the mosquitoes having unfortunately alighted on that organ, had burnt their logs off, and had used up his matches for crutches to enable them to walk about. Wc commend the above to the students of natural history as a now field of investigation.
