The Borough of Cromwell re Merging into County.
To the County Council, Vincent County. Gentlemen’, —I aui clirecte Ito state that, as a division of the Vincent County is being contemplated, in the event of which the town of Cromwell would probably bo within the limits of the part severed, the Corporation desire to postpone the consideration of the proposals for merging. It will he self-evident that any action that might he taken as the result of a conference would possibly lead to complications if the northern portion of the County separate from the southern, and therefore, pending a settlement of that matter it appears proper that no further action should bo taken by the Council, 1 am also to apologise for not having sent an intimation to tho above efthet at an earlier date. I have the honor to be Gentlemen, Yours faithfully, Charles CoLCLOufiii. Town Clerk. Cromwell, Feb. 23. [The above letter has been kindly placed ia our hands for publication.]
