The Alexandra School Committed met w Monday, the Sth inst., when, having cot' firmed the minutes of the previous meetinj. and approved the correspondence, the Secretary read in's Report and Balance Sheet which was approved and adopted. Tile Statutory Meeting was duly hcM iremediately after the close of the Commit!*’ meeting, Mr Robert Finlay still occupyit; the chair, when the Secretary read the report and balance sheet of the Keti'inu Conimittee to the public meet in?, which Bein' done was approved and carried unanimouslyThe Committee having retired fromoffift Mr R. Finlay was elected Chairman of tie public meeting, and expressed his pratifirttion at seeing such a number of gcntleiM* present, (fully 30), thus showing the, infered taken in the important subject of educationThe business of electing a Committee hr the current, year was then proceeded with, and resulted in the appointment of (helollowing gentlemen : Thomas Rron-n, RoW MoKeeman, John McKoraie, RiincJn Robertson, William Theyers, J.is. Riven, and Robert Finlay, At the close of the Statutory Mcetn’?* Committee Meeting was hold, when the W' lowing gentlemen were elected to hold offi!* l Robert Finlay, chairman ; Jas. Ri wrt| secretary ; and William Theyers, A vote of thanks to the Chair dare*! proceedings.
