WANTED TO KNOW.
'(TO THE EDITOR OF THE DUNSTAN TIMES.) Sir :—ln your Last report of a meeting of the Clyde Town Council (some long time since) the business of the meeting was not then properly carried through, if that I remember rightly, on account of the lateness of the hour. Would you please inform me how often the Town Council meet, and whether under present circumstances there should not be more of them. As things are progressing now, I should fancy that the office of “ Town Clerk ” is becoming •only a sinecure, and could bo very easily dispensed with, for the information of any ’kind that comes from that hard-worked individual is purely nought. As a ratepayer I should like to know what the weekly receipts are from tolls at the bridge, and 1 think that, with the consent of the MemLei's of the Council, that slight information could bo given by him, I am, &c., Ratepayer, ‘Clyde, Nov. 29, 1876.
