ARROWTOWN.

(FROM OUB OWN COHBKSfON DENT.) Mr Warden Simpson paid us a visit hero on Tuesday lost, and held both a sitting of the Resident Magistrate’s and Warden’s 'Court. Tho business in tho former was of considerable extent, more than has been transacted in one day for a long time previously. Mr Simpson, however, got through it in a most satisfactory manner, his decisions giving universal satisfaction. I daresay that until Mr Stratford’s return, fortnightly visits of your Warden will be amply sufficient for the wants of this district. The rise in tho price of Wheat has put our farmers in good heart. They have been in low spirits for a long time past, and it is pleasing to know that there is some amelioration to their condition looming out in the future. -An increase in the farming interest will have a most favorable reaction in respect to all others. The news from the reefs is highly favorable, in fact they never looked better. The All Nations Company strudk another rich run of gold in their tunnel '; and the Maryborough have done the same in their main shaft. The Homeward Bound'have also hit /i\- bettor than ever. 'The latter started ' their new machinery on Monday last, and it works splendidly. I believe they intend mining until Christmas, so as to secure a respectably sized - cake. The Victor Emmanuel and Garibaldi Companies are upon payable gold, and arc getting out stone. Tho All Nations Company are about to erect machinery, but its form has not been decided upon as yet. Tenders have been ■called for the road from Macetown to reefs, aud it is to bo hoped that tho work will bo pushed ahead as quickly as possible.
