HIE THOROUGHBRED HORSE ARCHITECT WILL TRAVEL THE DUNSTAN AND CROMWELL DISTRICTS DURING THE SEASON. Architect is a rich bay, with black points; stands IC4 hands, with great substance and quality. Ho has proved himself a sure foalgetter. He was bred by John Field, Esq., of Tasmania, and his stock in that island have turned out remarkably good on the turf, as hunters, and as weight carrying hacks. He is sire of “Mechanic,” who last year, as a three-year old, proved himself one of the best colts in Tasmania at two miles, welter weight. Architect’s sire, “ Peter Wilkins,” is the sire also of the “Quack,” winner of the Melbourne Cup ; “Benvolio,” winner of the Sydney Derby ; “ Flying Dutchman,” the hero of the Australian Cup of 1872; “ W. F.” the hurdle racer, and other horses ; and is full brother to “ Rose de Florence,” the dam of ” Maribyrnong ” (the most fashionable sire in Australia), “Ferryman,” “King of the Ring,” &o.

THE CLYDESDALE ENTIRE HORSE. STOPSISB, WILL travel this Season in Hie Clyde, Groin well, Alexandra, and Black’s districts. SURPRISE, bred by John Hamilton, Esq., is by that well-known Clydesdale sire Thane of Clyde, imported to Southland by Hugh M.‘Lean, Esq. Dam bred by A. Clerke, Esq., Longford, Tasmania, and imported into this Province by the Messrs Clerke, Brothers, for breeding purposes on their farm. SURPRISEis a dark, dappled bay, stands seventeen hands high, and is now rising ten years. He is a remarkably compact and powerful horse, with immense hone, tine flat leg, unequalled action, and docile temper. He has proved himself a sure foal getter, and his stock are not surpassed by the progeny of any horse which has over served in the Southland district, where he has travelled three years in succession. SURPRISE took second prize at two. three, and four years’old at the Invercargill Annual Show, against all comers. A paddock for the accommodation of mares coming from a distance will he provided at Wai Keri Keri, free of charge, without responsibility. Tho greatest caie taken.
