WASTE LANDS BOARD.
The weekly meeting of the Waste Lahds Board was held at the office, Provincial Government Buildings, onWednesday morning, the llth inst. Present: Me-srs A. C. Strode (chairman), Buttenvorlh, Bastings, and Clark.
The District Land Officer at C!y rle recommended Mr Duncan MaoKellar, of Cromwell, as a member of the Board of Inquiry for Clyde in the room of Mr J. Hazlett, resigned.—Consideration adjourned. Ranger Boulton reported on a letter from the Town Clerk, Crofhwell, requesting the R >ard to take action to prevent mining on the unsurveye I parts of Cromwell town reserve, the Council considering such to bo injurious to the value of said land.—The B >ard having considered the subject, referred it to the Deputy Commissioner of Crown Lands, to taka action thereon if he deems it advisable to do so.
An application lay Messrs Gillies, Street, and Hislop, for Charles Johnson, for a lease of Roy’s or Merino Island, Wauaka Lake, was refused.
