Tho other day when a Yioksburg 'mother discovered sugar'On the pantry shelf, she called to her boy wnd said: '“Someone has been stealing this sugar." “ Is it possible The exclaimed, rolling up his' eyes in astonishment. “ Yes, it is possible, and the thief is not far away either.” “Aint hoi Do you suspect father 1” “ No, ■! don’t.” “ Couldn't be the cat,' could it 1" he inquired, glancing under the table in search of the feline. “Cats don’t eat sugar, young man.” “They don’t 1” “ No, sir. The thief is a boy about your size,” “He is, eh 1 I’d just like to catch him here once.” “If the sugar is disturbed again,” she said, as she covered the box, “ 1 know a boy who’ll get his jacket dus ted.” “ That’s capital. T wish you’d let me stay out of school so’s to see you catch and maul him.” And ho 'went out to devour the other dumps.
