Acceptance. 10s Gd. Nominations will he received by the Secretary at the Matakanni Hotel, up to 8 p in., on the 27th January. Weights declared immediately after acceptance, at 10 o’clock, p.m. The winner of the Matakanni Handicap to carry 71b penalty. lIEERY SCURRY, Of 5 Sovs. One and a quarter miles.’ Catch Weights. Post Entry, 7s Gd. SECOND DAY—Saturday, Jan. 29th. STEWARD’S PURSE, Of 10 sovs. Three-quarter mile heats. Weight for age. Entrance, 15s. Note. — The winner of this race can. be claimed for £25 by the owner of any horse running in the race. The owner of the second horse to have the first right ot purchase, and so on.
MIDSUMMER HANDICAP, Of 15. sots. Open to all horses, one and a quarter miles. Nomination, 10s OJ ; acceptance, 10s 6d. Nominations will be received by the Secretary, at the Matakanni Hotel, up to 8 p.m., on the 28th January. Weights declared immediately after. Acceptance at 10 o’clock. SELLING STAKES, Of 10 sovs. The winner to be sold by auction after the race, and the surplus over entered price (if any) to go to the Race Fund. Distance, one mile. If entered to be sold for £ls, to carry 9st.; for £lO, Bst.; for £5, 7st. Post Entry, 15s. FIIEE HANDICAP, Of 10 Sovs. Distance, one mile. Weights to be declared on the Course. Acceptance, 10s Gd. HOSPITAL RACE, Of sovs. Distance, one and a quarter miles. We'ter weight for age Gentlemen riders. A silver cup, value 10 guineas, will be presented by the Club, to be won by the same horse two years in succession before becoming the property of the owner. The winner to hold possession of the enp till the next annual meeting. Entrance, ss.
CONSOLATION HANDICAP, Of 5 sovs. For all beaten horses. Distance, three-quarters of a mile. Entrance. ss. RULES AND REGULATIONS. No person will be allowed to enter or run a horse in this Programme unless ho bo qualified as a subscriber cf not less than one guinea to the Race Fund.
No entries will be received for any of the above Races except under this condition. That all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or whomsoever they may appoint, and their decision on all points connected with the carrying out of the Programme shall be final. Jockey costume will be strictly enforced. A deduction of five per cent will be made from the gross amount of tho stakes. Three horses to start for all post entry races or no race. The Dnnstan Jockey Club Rules will tie strictly enforced.
