ROYAL DCKE is a nure bred Clydesdale, stands 17 hands high, possesses great strength of bone, firm action, beautiful symmetry, and is of a bright bay color ; be also has proved himself a sure foal getter. Royal Duke won the first prize when a three year old colt in Dunedin ; and the second prize against all comers at the Cbitha. At the Agricultu-al Show, Dunedin, he also gained the first prize as a three year old colt. One of his foals shown in Tokomairiro the year before last gained the first, prize against numerous competitors. Royal Duke was got by Chnmpi n, (well known to be the best horse imported to this Colony), out of the eelebr.ated male Jessy, imported in 1853, by Messrs Emmery and Straghan, from Tasmania. The same year she gained the Taieri A cricnltural Society’s first prize for the best colomal bred mare, and the second prize for the be.st draft mare at the show, beating Mr Nimmo’s black mre imported direct from Scotland, ami the following year took prizes both in Dunedin and the Taieri.
