December 29. The City of Melbourne brings lota of English news. A terrific explosion occurred, killing seventy, and wounding one hundred, at the the mouth of the Weser, c onfessed to be a plan to sink the steamer Moselle to get insurance. The Frisco Mail service has broken down. The Sydney government have chartered the City of Melbourne to carry the Mail. A serious buggy accident occurred at Portobello, one person had his leg broken. Two young men have boon drowned on the Ocean beach. The Railway Foundry, King-street, was partially burnt last night, loss covered by insurance. An inquest is to be held on the George-street fire. Reynolds and Green, have been nominated for Port Chalmers, the show of hands was in favor of Green. Burns has been returned for Roslyn.
