ALEXANDRA TOWN HALL PLANS.
o— (to the editor or the duxstan times.) Sir : —An advertisement in your paper offering a bonus of five pounds for the best set of plans for a Town Hall at Alexandra appeared some time ago, I with several others sent in specimens f f plans we thought most suited for such a building, f illy expecting that the whole would be examined and decided on, on the date fixed, and that the rejected copies would be returned by first opportunity to the unsuccessful candidates with note, stating the same in a business like manner. The date fixed for examining the several plans was the 27th of last month, but owing to some unexplained reason they were ;not examined until the Ist instant, to say the lea-t, an unusual proceeding in a really business point of view, but worse still, the pbns have never been returned. I, for one, as a matterjof common courtesy, expected to hear the decision arrived at per first mail, and my design returned if rejected. The successful candidate has got some alterations to make - the whole matter leaves an opening for suspicion. Hoping the Corporation of Alexandra will return the rejected plans the first opportunity—Yours, &c., Competitor,
