It was resolved that a license bo granted to Mr Dooley for the piece of land forming the road, at a rental of 10s per annum, for the period requested (two years). Mr Ostin, on behalf of a friend of his, whose name and the number of whose run he had been requested not to mention, asked whether a pre-emptive right could be altered to another place on the same run after survey, explaining that, if it could bo so altered, an application would then be made by the person wanting the alteration The Board recommended that the application should be made in proper form —that is to say, that the name nf applicant., the number of the run, and the alteration desire'!, should be stated. No answer would be made to so general a question, but if the particulars were given, the Board would not see any hardship done, and would deal with the case on its merits. As to the non-dis-closure of the name, it was remarked tkat there was no occasion whatever for keeping it back, and that the Board would deal with the matter apart from personal considerations. The minute recorded was “Recommended that the application should be renewed in proper form.”
