—o— The following business of local import was transacted at the last meeting : Charles Colelongh, on behalf of Messrs Hayrs and Co., wrote to the Board requesting that lease 56, of Mr James Nicholas, he cancelled on account of non-payment of non of rent, and that he may he allowed to lodge an application for ten acres, including the four acres of Mr Nicholas, i., on arrears being paid up. The surrender was accepted. Jahrz Burton wrote to the Board surrendering section 5, block IV, Teviot district, applied for on deferred- payment system. Tho surrender was accepted, and the section to be advertised. D. Mao Kellar applied to purchase or lease an acre of land between the Atheiueura and Clutha River, for the purpose of stacking timber and constructing a house, pier, and tramway on it. The Board resolved that, as it was a riverside reserve, they could only grant a temporary occupation [license under clause 161, at 20s. per annum. The Warden of the Clyde district forwarded to the Board a duplicate certificate 867, issued to Messrs Strode and Fraser for section 1, block XIV, and section 1, block XI, Loaning Rock district, an objection to the same being granted. The Board referred 'tho matter to the Government, as the objection was lodged by the Mayor on behalf of the committeee of the residents.
