ALEXANDRA TOWN HALL.
(TO THE EDITOR OF THE DUJTSTAN times.) Sir,—ln your List week’s issue is an advertisement offering a bonus of L 3 for the most approved plan for a Town Hall. From this advertisement one would be inclined to think the Council was poking fun at their Mayor over this pot "scheme of his—however, Mr Editor, my object is to gain information and wculd ask the Alexandra Corporation whether it is not within the'r knowledge that a creditable building of the dimensions indicated could not be eroded for more than double thoamount stipulated, if so, why have they allowed Alexandra to be made a laughing stock respecting this Lo bonus. It your paper’s circulation was confined to the district, much harm would not be done, but as it happens to travel far and wide it wears a very different aspect, and can only conclude that it’s a toy they want for our worthy Mayor to play with. Yoms, Ac., Ratepayer. Alexandra, Hov. 1, 1873.
