A curious coincidence is noted that the steamship Schiller was'wrecked oh the very anniversary of the death, in 1805, of the German poet whose namcit bore. Mrs Rohm, known as the “ fat woman ” of Barnura’s show, has just died at her residence in East Baltimore, aged 29 years. Her weight was 533!bs ; height, 6ft. 4in. ; and the span around the waist, 72in. An Aberdeen girl supposes that the reason she has never kindled a llamo in any man’s heart is because she is not a good match.
Holloway’s Ointment and Pills.—Notable Facts.—lntense heat augments the annoyances of skin disease and encourages the development of febrile disorders ; wherefore they should, as they may, be removed by these detergent and purifying preparations. In stomach complaints, liver affections, pains and spasms of the bowels, Holloway’s unguent well rubbed over the affected part immediately gives the greatest case, prevents congestion and inflammation, checks the threatening diarrhoea, and averts incipient cholera. Tho poorer inhabitants of largo cities will find these remedies to bo their beat friend when any pestilence rages, or when, from unknown causes eruptions, boils, abscesses, or ulcerations betoken the presence of taints or impurities.
