A brutish Cannibal.—A horrible case of assault occurred at Tyldesley, in Lancashire. An American Irishman, named Joseph Johnson, is in the custody of the police, on the charge of biting off the lip and a portion of the nose of an old man named Thomas Hall. It appears that the prisoner was in the act of ill-using the old man’s donkey, and that when requested to desist ho threw Hall to the ground, and bit of! bis upper lip, which it is believed he swallowed at the time. His teeth also penetrated through the nose. Not content with this outrage, the prisoner afterwards kicked his victim in a most violent manner.
