Solicitors: Batligate and Buchanan, Dunedin. ■ Broker roD-i; • n.-; George Fqche, plyde. the Promotei-s of the' above Company in placing this speculation before the PnbliA, desire to inform them of the following facts in connection with tile claim now hold by them, and as such facts can be: -verified by competent witnesses-who have been resident oh Bendigo since the first opening of tire ground, they (the -Promoters) consider it unnecessary to make any additional - statement, hut -will leave 'if to speculators ?to decide whether the claim is or is not worthy of a further’ trial. f-< : i The claim in question, consisting of a raining lease of ,13d acres, was originally held by the “ Aurora Company,” and worked by them for nearly two year's. Crashing operations Were carried on by them dining that time without intermission, arid the yields varied from SdWts.to 2ois 17dwts per ton of quartz. During this time a tunnel of over 700 feet was driven, but’ at such a 'high' level ah’ toCbo practically useless, and Was therefore all dead. work. No dividends having been obtained the Company decided to let the mine on tribute ; this was twice done, the tributors in each case realised from Sdwts to 91'dwts per ton; this not satisfying them, .the mine was abandoned, ’and eventually the Aurora Company allowed their lease to lapse. The Promoters then applied for it, and it Was granted to them..; During the whole of the above period, whether worked by the company or by the tributors, the mine always paid expenses, and never got one shilling behind.; There is' now’ in the tilimel a shaft about GO feet deep and 140 feet from the surface, in which there is ‘ a reef •six (G) feet in width from w-hich < the latest crushings of Bdw-ts to 9|dwts -per ton- were taken, and at the Bottom of said shaft an apparently new “make” of a strong blue' reef is to he seen, w’hich carries good gold. At the further end of the claim stone yielding per- ton was .taken. ,‘ A It is proposed to sink a shaft in continuation of the above to a depth of 200 feet or 300 feet, and Cross drive the tunnel at its present termination, so as to cut any reefs which may reasonably be supposed to exist in its vicinity from the fact of various leaders showing on the surface, each | carrying good gold, but which are too narrow, to admit of being worked profitably. The Promoters in surrendering the above property —locally siippos d' to be—after Logan’s—the most valuable on Bendigo—ask that the sum of ,£GOO be paid to them as compensation, they are also willing to take up 500 shares at the price and on the terms prescribed in the prospectus. A deposit of 2s per share must, accompany each application, and 2s per share to he paid on allotment; further calls as the work progresses to he fixed by the Directors appointed by the Company when formed.
