JC CHAPPLE, instructed by Mr , Me'lor (Ballarat Hotel), will sell by public auction, on the above date, at 2 o’clock sharp— A Wood and Iron Cottage together with Garden, well stocked with Fruit Trees, <fcc., situated at Tinker’s Gully (late the property of Mr Robert Scott) ; together with Furniture, &c. J. C. CHAPPLE, Auctioneer, Holloway’s Ointment and Pills— For bid legs, bad breasts, scorbutic and scrofulous sores that is an infallible specific. The loud expressions of earnest gratitude made by thousands who have experienced its unrivalled power over these complaints, and who have been raised from prostrate helplessness and a condition loathsome to themselves and others, render it quite unnecessary to enlarge in this place upon its extraordinary virtues. The parts affected should be bathed with luke-warm water, and when the pores are thereby opened tho Ointment should be)well rubbed in at least twice a day. It is always advisible to take Holloway’s Pills in these disorders as the action of the Ointment is thereby wonderfully assisted. Tho Pills check fever, purify the blood and eject all morbid matter engendered by diseases.— Advt. Goldsmiths’ Work. —The process of fine-art manufacture in this branch of trade is strikingly exemplified in a little work published by Mr. J. W. Benson, of No. 25, Old Bond-street, and of tho City Steam Factory, 58 and 60 Ludgate-hill, London. It is enriched and embellished with designs, by Italian, French, and English artistes, of brooches, bracelets, ear-rings, ami other articles, suitable for personal wear, or for wedding, birth-day, or other presents, with their prices. Mr Benson, who holds tho appointment to U.R.H. the Prince of Wales, has also published a very interesting pamphlet on the Rise and Progress of Watchmaking. These pamphlets arc sent, post free, for two stamps each, and they cannot bo too strongly recommended to those conlemplaing a purchase, especially to residents in tho country or abroad, who arc thus enabled to select any article they may require, and have forwarded in perfect safety. Tho following amusing incident occurred on the North Loudon Railway. A short time since a passenger remarked in tho hearing of one of tho company’s servants how easy it was to “ do” tho Company, and ho said ho had often travelled from Broad street to Dalston Junction without a ticket, “Anyone can do it—l did it yesterday.” When ho alighted he was followed by tho official, who enquired how it was done. For a consideration tho passenger agreed to tell him. This being given, the inquirer said, “ Now how did you go from Broad street lo the Dalston Junction yesterday, ( without a ticket.” “ Oh,” was tho reply, 1 “I walked.”
