ORIGINAL CORRESPONDENCE.
—o—[We do not hold ourselves responsible for opinions expressed by correspondents.] —o— NASEBY ATHENAEUM. (TO THE EDITOR OF THE DUNSTAN TIMES.) Sir, —As Honorary Secretary of the Naseby Athenaeum, please allow me a line or two in reply to your Own Correspondent, who must be either ignorant, or purposely untruthful, in his report on this Institution. J am a subscriber and frquent visitor, and distinctly state that the room is tidy at all times. The newspapers arid periodicals are in their place. The comfort and convenience of subscribers is studied by having the room clean, well lighted, and a good fire. Thero is an ample supply of books in the Library for all readers, which can be obtained at suitable hours appointed by the Committee (who were elected by the subscribers ) I further inform yon that the Secretary does not receive any salary, and the Librarian only a very trifling one. The Institution is certainly not so well supported as was anticipated by its promoters. I have no doubt but that the Committee would consider any suggestion Your Own Correspondent might make with a view to advance the usefulness of so valuable an Institution. 1 know not Your Own Correspondent, but suppose he is some lazy a penny a liner, Your’s, &c., E. T. GEORGE, Hon. Sec., Naseby Athenaeum. Naseby, May 10, 1875.
