P'll 0 S P E C T U S OF THE ‘‘Now Aurora Quartz Mining To bo Registered under the “ Joint Stock Companies’ Act. ” Capital £7OOO. In 7000 of £1 each. Provisional Directors : A. Bathgate, Esq., Dunedin. J. ITazlett, Esq , M.P.C.,5 Clyde. B. "Naylor, Esq., J.P., Clyde. T. JVPMorran, Bendigo. T, Ilazlett,''Dunedin. With power To 'addjHoThpirhiumber. Bankers: Bank of Wales, Cromwell. Solicitors ; Bathgate and Buchanan, Dunedin. {Broker: George Fache, Clyde, The Promoters of the above Company in placing this speculation before the Public, desire to inform them of the following facts in connection with the claim now held by them, and as such facts can be verified by competent witnesses who have been resident on Bendigo since the first opening of the ground, they (the Promoters) consider it unnecessary to make any additional statement, but will leave it to speculators to decide whether the claim is or is not worthy of a further trial. The claim in question, consisting of a mining lease of 131- acres, was originally held by the “ Aurora Company,” and worked by them for nearly two years. Crushing operations were carried on by them during that time without intermission, and the yields varied from Sdwtsto 2ozs 17dwts pur ton of quartz. During this time a tunnel of over 700 feet was driven, but at such a high level as to bo practically useless, and was therefore all dead work. No dividends having been obtained the Company decided to let the mine on tribute ; this was twice done, the tributors in each case realised from Bdwts to 9Mwts per ton; this not satisfying them the mine was abandoned, and eventually the Aurora Company allowed their lease to lapse. The Promoters then applied for it, and it was granted to them. During the whole of the above period, whether worked by the company or by the tributors, the mine always paid expenses, and never got one shilling behind. There is now in the tunnel a shaft about 60 feet deep and 140 feet from the surface, in which there is a reef six (6) feet in width from which the latest crushings of Bdwts to 9|dwts per ton were taken, and at the bottom of said shaft an apparently new “ make” of a strong blue reef is to bo seen, which carries good gold. At the further end of the claim stone yielding 174dwts per ton was taken. It is proposed to sink a shaft hi continuation of the above to a depth of 200 feet or 300 feet and cross drive the tunnel at its present termination, so as to cut any reefs which may reasonably be supposed to exist in its vicinity from the fact of various leaders showing on the surface, each carrying good gold, but which are too narrow to admit of being worked profitably. The Promoters in surrendering the above property—locally supposed to be—after Logan’s—the most valuable on Bendigo—ask that the sum of .£6OO be paid to them as compensation, they are also willing to take up 500 shares at the price and on the terms presoribed’injhejn'ospectus. A deposit of 2s per share must accompany each application, and 2s per share to be paid on allotment; further calls as the work progresses to be fixed by the Directors appointed by the Company when formed. Further particulars to be obtained of GEORGS FACHE, Clyde. O R SALE. The COAL PIT and Lease of Five Acres known as Stuart’s, threo miles from Cromwell, and the nearest pit to it. The mine is in thoroughly efficient working order, and a face of coal is open 150 feet in length. The tunnel, tramroad, trucks, etc, are in good order, ready at once to supply an unlimited amount of coal, which is of the best quality. A good Horse and Dray will bo sold with the same, if required.
