ALEXANDRA SCHOOL.
The foilowing are the minutes of a Meeting of the Alexandra School Committee held on Monday Ist March. There were present—Jaa. Samson, Esq., chairman, and full Committee. After the minutes of the previous meetings were confirmed it was resolved and carried, that Mr. Reid’s resignation bo accepted:—that the usual three months, notice to be given ; hut Mr Reid to be allowed to leave at an earlier date if possible. The Meeting was adjourned to 2Cth March, to receive the applications, for the offices of Master and Mistress, which w T as to close on that date.
Minutes of Special Meeting held March 26th.
There were present—,las, Samson, Esq. chairman, Finlay, Robertson, Watson, Terry, and Rivers. Tho Secretary having read the applications an I Testimonials, &c.. it was, after a discussion carried, that Mr. and Mrs Rico, a lady and gentleman, recently arrived by tho “Mallow Vale,” and highly recommended by Mr. Hialop, bo appointed. The Secretary was instructed to advise Mr and Mrs Rice, by telegram, they to reply what date they would bo prepared to take charge of the School. It was also decided that tho Secretary delay replying to tho other applications until it would bo definitely ascertained that Mr and Ml s Rico, would accept tho appointment.
Minutes o£ Mooting held Monday April 6th. Thero were phisout—Jas. Samson, Esq.,' Chairman, Rivers, Finlay, Terry, and Fraser. The minutes of previous mootings having boon confirmed, and Mr Hold’s quarterly report having been received, and adopted, it was carried unanimously, that a minute be recorded, stating the high appreciation the Committee entertain of the efficient manner Mr Reid has conducted the school for tho past seven years. The Secretary also instructed to write to Mr. Reid to tho same effect, and wishing him success in his future career. A similar motion having reference to Miss Brnnton’s efficiency as mistress for tho last two years, was carried, the Secretary, being also instructed to write to that lady conveying tho good wishes of tho Committee. The usual vote to the chair closed the meeting.
