WASTE LANDS BOARD.
o The following business of local importance was transacted by the Waste Lands Board at its last sitting : Mr William M‘Nab, on behalf of Mr William Cell, applied for a coal lease in Adims Gull •, Bannockburn.—Resolved that lease be granted on usual terms, proVded that runholder’s consent be obtained. Mr Heriot Robertson requested that the Board would defer action in the matter of an application for a coal lease near Cromwell lately made to the Board. It was presumed that the application referred to was one by Mr Dagg, which had not been reported on, and that had not yet been dealt with by the Board. The District Land Officer, Clyde, forwarded a letter from Messrs Chappie and Worth, requesting, in regard to an application for a water-race made by them, that a survey should be dispensed with. The resolution minuted was : “ Survey absolutely necessary before Board can proceed.” Mr James Cleary lodged objections to a license for a water-raca at Spottis Creek applied for to the Warden, Clyde, heine granted to Mr Thomas Loo. Mr Thomas Spain also objected to VI r L o’s license being granted. The objections were noted.
