George Edward Barnes, miner of Bannockburn, anplication to he adjudged a bankrupt was granted, and the first meeting of creditors was fixed for Thursday, the 22th inst., at tke Court House, Clyde. F. Morse, by h : s attorney,- Whittaker, v N,avion—Judgment in this case Ims broil held over from time to t ; mo pending the receipt of communication from tho plaintiff, who is now in Canada. No ren’y having been received up to date, bis Honor said that as the matter in dispute was virtua’ly settled, the monev sued for having been paid to plaintiff by defendant, the acknowledgment of wlvcb was only required, and as to adjourn it again would necessitate tho whole evidence being again gone into before his successor, his (Judge Gray’s) jurisdiction in the district ceasing at the end of the month. Ho would suggest that the parties arrange between them the question of costs The suggestion was acted upon, and we understand a final set.lenient has been come to.
