Lawrence Handicap, of 53 sovs., with a sweepstake of 2 guineas ; tho second horse to receive amount of sweepstake. Distance, 14 mile. Mr J. Monaghan's Tripolis, 4yrs ; 7st 101b (Malone) 1 Mr 0. Coombe’s Right Bower, s vrs 7«t 81b (Brensell) 2 Mr. A. M‘Kay’s Unknown, 6yrs ; Bst (T. Cotton) 3 This race was'betweon Tripolis and Right Bower throughout, tho latter leading until the turn at the Coal-pit, when ho was headed by Tripolis, who won by two lengths. Unknown was a good third. District Handicap, of 23 sovs Twice round the course. Mr W. Quin’s b g Fenian, 7st Sib (Cotton) 1 Mr J. Monaghan’s b g Bismarck, aged, 9st (Malone) 2 Mr M. Cotton's hr m Envy, aged. 7st 41b (Smith) 3 This race resulted in a sp l eudid contest between Traitor and the Earl, the Traitor winning by a neck. Envy two lengths behind. Hack Selling Race, of 15 sovs. Winner to he sold for 15 sovs : any surplus to go to the fund ; mile heats ; no weight to he under ]Qst Mr Pollock’s Shaw (fotton) 1 1 Mr Monaghan’s Alandar (Pollock) 2 0 MrW. Quin’s Colleen Dawn (Brosnan) The winner was sold for 23 1.

Telford’s b g German Louis, 7st 101b ... ... ... (Batty) 3 Fenian bounded away with the lead and kept it to the finish, heating Bismarck by five lengths. Gorman Lou’s was a length behind Bismarck. Tdapf.ka Jockey Club Handicap, 75 sovs.. with a sweepstake of two guineas added. The amount accruing from the sweep to be given to second horse. Distance, 2 miles. Mr G. 121b (J. Malone) 2 Mr T. Pollock’s bhj Botbwell, 6st 121b 3 After one false start they got away in good order. At the Stand Eight Bower took the lead, with Botbwell second, which positions were maintained until ascending the hill, when Tripolis passed Botbwell and reached the leading horse, hut at the Becreation ground Right Bower sailed a-hcad, and cantered home a winner by six lengths, hard held, in advance of Tripolis. Bothwell was a long way behind.
Novel Race ; handicap of 50 sovs. One mile and a half. The winner to bo sold by auction with his engagements, and the whole of the proceeds to go to the funds. Mr T. Dwyer’s hj g Border Lad, 7st 61b 1 Mr W. Quin’s b g Fenian, Sst .. 2 Mr H. Telford’s b g German Louis, 7st 61b ... 3
This was a well contested race throughout, and Border I.ad heat Fenian by half a length. The winner was sold for L 27.
Hack Race, 10 sovs. One mile heats. Catch-Weights. Three to start or no race.

The first heat Saltan heat Allander hy a short length, Chinaman being reserved for next heat. The second heat A Hander being dicky did not start, therefore from the jump the young jock’s race the whole way, Sultan winning in the run in by a length. Consolation Stake, 20 sovs. miles. Mr Goodman’s Kathleen ... ... i
Mr M’Roy’s Unknown ... ... 2 C’apt. Hutchison’s Lari of Lynne ... 3 Won easy by the light-weight. A Hospital Race finished the meeting, which was won by Mr Sutherland’s horse. Three started.
