ALEXANDRA TOWN COUNCIL.
The ordinary meeting of the Council ■was held on Wednesday last the 25th instant. Present, James Samson, Esq., Mayor in the Chair, and Councillor* Finlay, Theyers an I Rivers. Coticspondcnce.—A letter was received from Constable Picrpoint, tendering his re eguation of tho office of Inspector of Nuisances, which was accepted hy tho Council. From the Inspector of Police, giving his sanction to the appointment of Constable Prendivillo, as Inspector of Nuisances for the Municipality of Alexandra. The assessment of property seat in by the Valuators was duly allowed, and the Town Clerk instructed to give the usual notice.
Moved hy Councillor Rivers, seconded by Councillor Finlay and carried—That the Town Clerk write to the lessees of tho Corporation water, race, requesting them to pay for the boxes they have in use belonging to the Corporation. Moved by Councillor Rivers seconded by Councillor Thcycrs, and carried—That tho sura of two guineas bo given to the Alexandra School Committee for prize* at the Chiistmas examination.
The mooting clnseil with the usual rote of thanks to tho Chair.
