Precision in Language.—“ How old may you be ?” said Mr A. to his friend H., the other evening. “ 1 cannot tell you,” was the reply, “ how old I may be, but I know how old I am.”
At Wanganui, several young men have been brought before the Resident Magistrate for playing at a game of chance known as pool. The owner of the billiard table was also summoned for allowing the game to he played. Being tho first case of the kind, the Magistrate dismissed them with a caution.
Advertising for a wife is about as absurd as getting measured for an umbrella.
